Peacock and Floral (Hosoge) Pattern
With a design featuring hosoge, the flower of the heavens, and peacocks, said to be the model for the phoenix, and hosoge, this dress is a gift from the heavens. It protects the wearer from misfortune and promises good luck.

▽Explanation of the pattern used▽

Peacock Pattern
Peacock are a symbol of marital bliss because males and females have close relationships. This beautiful bird is also said to be the model for the phoenix and expresses a wish for divine protection from the Buddha and gods. Also, since peacock feathers look like eyes, it is a symbol of watchfulness and is believed to help ward off calamity.

Hosoge Pattern
A kind of arabesque. Many theories surround the origins of this pattern; according to one theory, this was a name given to something that looked like a flower within an arabesque, but another theory states that there was actually a plant called hosoge and that its flowers are the model for this pattern. It is also said that this flower blooms not on earth but in heaven and was created from the most beautiful parts of such flowers as peonies, Chinese peonies, cotton rose, and more. Either way, this auspicious pattern is said to bring the divine protection of Buddha and gods.
